Boris Hauf (London 1974)
He is the founder of viennese electro-acoustic quintet efzeg, cofounder of berlin-based classic-rock band the understated brown and a part-time member of allrounder outfit tvpow and post-punk band lozenge, both chicago-based.
releases in 2006 and 2005 include 2 solos soft left onto westland [mosz] and clark [sijis], efzeg/krom [hathut], wane by bruckmann/dafeldecker/hauf [formed records], Busking for Gasmoney by tvpow+hauf [top40.org] and undone [sickroom records] by lozenge featuring hauf on saxophone.
since 1995 more than 20 releases on cd, dvd, vinyl, vhs and regular tours as solo artist and in bands throughout Europe, North Africa, Latin America, Japan and the USA.
International Festivals, Radio- & TV-staions, Filmdirectors, Ensembles, Soloists, Performers and Theaters have commissioned compositions from Boris Hauf, who studied saxophone, flute, philosophy, cello, music- & media technology in Vienna (A), Linz (A), London (UK) and has received international grants and prizes. He has held lectures at the Art Institute of Chicago (USA) and at various schools in Austria.
